A freestanding privacy screen is well suited for certain applications such as patio or deck partitions. There are considerations when choosing a freestanding screen because the styles available are specific to application. Please note that all freestanding screens should ideally be placed on a flat manmade surface such as a deck or patio or they will not be stable. For screens installed in your yard, we recommend our no-dig privacy screens.
Screens that Require a Temporary Location
If your screen needs to be moved often for temporary partitions, we recommend the Tiaga or Sierra. Please note that without hardware fasteners (included), they will not sustain extreme wind loads, so they should not be left in areas prone to high winds.
Screens that Require a Semi-Permanent Location
Most of our freestanding screens are planter box combos so that gravel, dirt and flowers can provide the weight required to keep it freestanding while maintaining an aesthetically pleasing look. Because you don't want your screen to blow over, you'll want to make it heavy. A heavy screen is more difficult to move which is we don't recommend our planter/screen combos for portable applications.
Screens that Require a Permanent Location
If you want something permanent, we recommend using the included hardware to fasten your Tiago or Sierra to your deck or patio. This result in small holes being drilled into your surface, but your screen will withstand wind if installed to the surface properly.
